ESL Magazine - the leading magazine for American English language teachers for ESL EFL ESOL and TEFL - U.S. Language Demographics Online: The Modern Languages Association (MLA) has launched a new online, interactive map profiling the multilingual demographics of the U.S. The map is derived from the results of the vast U.S. Census 2000 which collected detailed data on people living in the U.S. The huge database of results has been analysed and published and provides, amongst many other findings, a record of the languages spoken at home, as well as information about English proficiency.
